The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm WARNING for Whiteside County from 6pm Sunday until 6pm Monday. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Lee County from 6pm Sunday until 6pm Monday.
Hazards: Snow, moderate to heavy at times will arrive Sunday evening continuing through the late morning hours of Monday. Total accumulations of 3-6 inches, with isolated higher amounts, are likely. A period of freezing drizzle is also likely Monday afternoon and evening. Winds will also be increasing Monday afternoon causing blowing and drifting snow, especially in rural areas. Prepare: Travel will become difficult late tonight through much of Monday morning with snow-covered roads present. If you must travel, make sure you have a winter survival kit in your vehicle and leave extra time to reach your destination.
