A Winter Weather Advisory continues until midnight for Whiteside county and 6am Sunday for Lee county.
A Wind Chill Advisory has been issued for Whiteside and Lee counties through Monday morning for wind chill values that may reach down to near -30 below zero at times Sunday afternoon, overnight, and into Monday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Lee and Whiteside counties, valid until 6am Sunday for Lee county and 12am Sunday for Whiteside county.
Snow is expected to develop and overspread the region by noon Friday and continue through the day. Light accumulations are expected between a half inch to one inch.
Friday night a break in the snow will develop with redevelopment expected to take place by late Saturday morning. Strong winds will also develop during the day on Saturday causing significant blowing and drifting snow, especially in rural areas.
Storm total accumulations of 1/2 to 2 inches with isolated higher amounts remain likely. Travel is expected to become hazardous by Friday evening at times.
