The national Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm WATCH for both Lee and Whiteside counties starting late Saturday and lasting through Sunday evening.

Significant snow accumulations are possible as multiple pieces of energy move over the area this weekend. Combined with cold air already in place, snowfall accumulations of 6″ or more are likely by late Sunday.

Snow will continue through Sunday evening into Monday morning, possibly adding even more to snow already on the ground by Sunday evening.

Travel is expected to become difficult by late Saturday lasting through the remainder of the weekend with poor visibilities at times.
