Model trends continue to show a possible late season snow event for the time frame mentioned above. At this time we continue to watch for the potential for wet & heavy snow across portions of northern Illinois which does include the Sauk Valley Area.

A strong cutoff exists with this system, and we continue to watch how this system shifts. If this system shifts further south, the heavier band of snowfall will be to our south, if it shifts north we could see more of a mixture rather than heavy snowfall.

We’ll continue to wait to see how this shifts before we put accumulation totals out. Be wary on certain pages that suggest over 8 inches of snowfall, while the potential is there, it is too early to suggest that amount of snowfall considering how much this system has been shifting.

Remember, a Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
