Wind Chill WARNING: When you’ll want to stay inside this week.

Dangerous and even life-threatening wind chills are likely through Thursday as a potent arctic air mass along with strong winds establishes itself across the region.

A Wind Chill Advisory has been issued for Lee and Whiteside Counties until 6pm Tuesday.

A Wind Chill WARNING has been issued for Lee and Whiteside Counties from 6pm Tuesday until 12pm Thursday.

The most dangerous wind chills will arrive Tuesday evening lasting throughout the entire day on Wednesday, and continuing on Thursday. By Thursday afternoon and evening some modest improvement is expected to take place.

During the most dangerous time period, frostbite is likely to exposed skin in 5 minutes or less. Take precautions now and limit your time outdoors to only a few minutes during this time frame.

Check on the elderly and never leave your pets outside during this cold stretch of weather.
