The pattern looks like it will finally shift in our favor in terms of some much needed rainfall for the area as this week will present quite a few opportunities for showers and thunderstorms with nearly daily chances through the day Friday. We’ve been talking about our rainfall deficit over the last couple of weeks, and it looks like April will get off to a good start in terms of rainfall if everything pans out the way models have been advertising.
Monday will feature cloudy skies with scattered showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms by late afternoon. High temperatures will be in the lower 60s.
Monday night showers and thunderstorms will continue to increase in coverage. Lows around 50.
Tuesday will be more of the same with rain and perhaps a few thunderstorms in the mix with cooler readings, highs near 60.
Our first severe weather risk of the season has been posted for Thursday, as the Storm Prediction Center has our area outlook-ed in a 15% chance of seeing some type of severe weather during the day/evening. Stay tuned to later forecasts as the timing and threats become more clear. Definitely something you will want to keep an eye on as April and May are typically our busiest months in terms of severe weather events in this area.
Have a great Monday!
