Wet Today, Dry Tomorrow

A wet and cloudy day is upon us here across the Sauk Valley on this Wednesday. Going to keep the clouds around for the entire day, but rain chances will be on/off  today. While much of the rain fell overnight, we’ll keep rain in our forecast until the evening hours for much of the area. With that, temperatures are expected to reach into the low to mid 40s by this afternoon, and windy conditions come into play as well with gusts up to 20MPH at times.

Today, highs expected around 44. Rain and cloudy conditions stay today, and tonight we’ll slowly move those clouds out of the area, giving us a mostly cloudy night with lows around 33.

The days keep getting shorter as well. Notice the 4:30 sunset, where last Wednesday it was 4:38PM. I enjoy a good sunset, but the earlier it gets, the harder it is for me to get to enjoy it!

Thanksgiving day we will start chilly with temperatures in the lower 30s. Calm winds will set the day allowing for temperatures to comfortable cruise into the lower 40s along with a partly sunny day. Temperatures to slowly decline by the late afternoon hours, and expect a low around 32 for the area. Thankfully we’ll stay dry allowing those pie and other goodies to stay dry while traveling! While the weather will be dry, hopefully the turkey doesn’t dry out either!

Temperatures this week are much cooler than what we have been experiencing. Friday is no exception keeping temperatures fairly cool in the lower 40s as well. For some, the weekend could be considered ‘warm’ if you enjoy near 50 degree weather. Rain chances come back into our forecast as early as Sunday afternoon.
