Good Monday Morning!
A cold front will be approaching the area later this evening and ahead of it south winds will be increasing this afternoon pushing our high temperatures up into the middle 60s! We won’t see much in the way of sunshine today however the winds will be working in our favor to bring in the warmer temperatures.
Fire danger is expected to be high today through Tuesday due to the strong winds so avoid outdoor burning.
Attention then turns to this evening as the front moves through the area. A line of thunderstorms will likely form to our west in portions of Iowa and head eastward. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area in a marginal risk for severe weather tonight. The main threats with these storms as they move in looks to be primarily damaging winds. However, an isolated tornado within this line cannot be ruled out.
Tuesday will be cooler and continued windy. Temperatures are set to fall even further by the end of this week with a chance of snow in the forecast.
