Unsettled Pattern Arrives

Hellloooo summer! I don’t think any of us anticipated three consecutive 80 degree days in a row when looking at the forecast from last weeks perspective but I’m definitely not going to complain here! Quite a pleasant surprise actually as its allowed us to dry out a bit from our recent wet and unsettled stretch.

Nearly nine days ago we were watching the flakes fly as a very cold stretch of weather entered the region but we have really come a long way from that as you can see on the temperature trend graph. Quite amazing how quickly the turnaround has been!

While I don’t think we are going to see any more 80 degree days in the near term, our temperatures will still remain quite mild and above average as we push through the rest of the week.

That stubborn trough of low pressure out in the plain states dumping huge amounts of rain in parts of Texas will progress eastward towards the area today bringing back the rain chances. Not looking at any significant rainfall like they have seen in the south but there will be some periods of moderate rain from time to time with even a few thunderstorms too!

This morning scattered showers will be around with a brief break during the early afternoon before more showers and perhaps a thunderstorm arrive for the afternoon hours. This activity will continue into overnight Tuesday and then intensify into Wednesday with temperatures remaining in the upper 60s to near 70.

Wednesday is looking very wet as the surface low moves over the area bringing our best chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be near 70.

Cooler temperatures arrive behind the system as we are back in the 60s for Thursday with scattered showers. Sunshine returns to end the week on Friday with cooler readings continuing.

The active pattern looks to resume itself by late next weekend into early next week with more rain chances lingering, but still mild!
