The High Wind Warning has been replaced with a High Wind Advisory until 8pm this evening. Winds gusting up to 50 MPH remain possible through the afternoon hours.
9:45PM 3/15/16 UPDATE:
The Tornado Watch has been allowed to expire. The severe threat has ended for the area.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a TORNADO WATCH until 9PM CDT.
Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop over extreme northeast Missouri and southwestern Iowa later this afternoon and move rapidly eastward this evening. These storms will reach the local area after 6PM bringing the threat of large hail, damaging wind gusts, and an isolated tornado or two.
SEVERE WEATHER PROBABILITIES:
Large Hail: VERY HIGH
Damaging Winds: MODERATE
Tornadoes: HIGH
Storms should move out of the local area after 10 PM with strong winds developing behind the system through the overnight hours.
A HIGH WIND WARNING is in place beginning 4AM Wednesday until 8pm Wednesday evening.
Be prepared to take immediate action should a warning be issued for your area.
