Those lucky few that saw showers and thunderstorms yesterday got quite a dousing of heavy rainfall with some places picking up nearly an inch of rain in some spots while others only saw a trace or nothing.
Some wind damage was observed near Prairieville (between Sterling and Dixon) with some tree limbs and power lines down. Thanks to Tracey Sivits for the photo submission.
We will continue to run the risk of thunderstorms again today as the cold front gets closer to the area. The best chance for storms will be late this afternoon and evening and even a few stronger storms are possible especially if we can squeeze some sunshine during the late morning and afternoon hours. The main threats with the storms today will be large hail and damaging winds. Heavy rainfall is also possible with any storms that move through and we could definitely use that! Highs today will reach for the middle 80s.
After the front moves through Wednesday will see a dramatic change in the temperature department with plenty of cloud cover and even a few showers possible. Highs will struggle to reach 70 degrees with the lack of sunshine. Winds will be quite gusty as well around 25 MPH at times.
The cool spell will last into Thursday but with the return of some sunshine our temperatures will get a little bit of a boost back to near 80 degrees but still pleasant for this time of year!
Our warming trend continues into the extended with the next chance of rainfall not until late Saturday as temperatures continue to moderate.
