Sunday snow chances

SAY IT ISN’T…SNOW

A fairly nice Saturday lies ahead of us with a mostly sunny sky and lighter winds. Highs will easily reach the middle 50s this afternoon.

By tonight and especially into Sunday morning a new storm system will move to the south of us breaking out light rain after midnight. This rain will mix with and completely change over to snow at times by sunrise Sunday morning. The best chance for any accumulations will remain over the south-half of the area, where minor accumulations appear likely. Road surface temperatures remain well above freezing, so this will be limited to grassy and elevated surfaces with no significant impacts to travel expected. Light snow will continue through early Sunday afternoon before ending.

The snow isn’t going to stick around long. We’re already trending towards the 70s by Tuesday of next week. Ah, the power of April.
