Summer Returns Today

Good morning everyone. Hopefully we all had time to enjoy the holiday weekend and celebrate our independence. A fairly decent day today but things are going to change come later tonight.

Today our highs will bump into the mid 80s with heat indexes nearing 90. Clouds will decrease through our midday/afternoon hour and then increase in our evening/late evening hours ahead of a storm system that will affect our area after midnight.

The heat returns today with today being the hottest day we’ve had so far in July. Back to the mid 80s today, and then again tomorrow nearing 90. Wednesday we crank up the humidity as well making for a fairly uncomfortable day.

–Storms Ahead–
Stormy outlook ahead starting after midnight tonight. Here’s a few details with those:

Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday: A marginal threat for isolated strong storms will be possible. These will be weakening as they approach. Isolated damaging winds are possible in any strong/severe storm.

For Wednesday: There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms. Currently the SPC has us in a marginal threat. This threat comes in the afternoon hours if redevelopment occurs. Damaging winds and small hail would be the main threats.

For Thursday: A chance for severe weather is still up in the air at this point. Models differ showing two scenarios. Currently the SPC has issued a slight risk for Thursday for the area. I’ll have more updates as this gets closer in range and things start to come together. But this is the day to keep your eye on. Storms would be in the evening hours this day, with much of the day remaining dry.
