Strong winds, heavy rainfall this weekend

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for Whiteside County until midnight tonight. An Areal Flood Advisory has been issued for Lee County until 2:45pm.

An inch or more of rainfall has already fallen this morning with an area of heavy rainfall. Additional rainfall is likely later this afternoon and evening which will lead to areas of flash flooding. The combination of melted snow and frozen ground will also cause rises on area rivers early next week.

Remember, never cross a flooded roadway, no matter how shallow the water may appear to be.

A Wind Advisory has been issued for Whiteside County from 3am Sunday until 9pm Sunday. A High Wind Watch has been issued for Lee County from 3am Sunday until 9pm Sunday. Sustained winds of 30 to 40 MPH with gusts up to 55 MPH are likely during this time frame. Travel will be most impacted on north/south roads. Secure loose outdoor objects now.
