Still Cool Today…Rain Begins Late

After the 70s we experienced on Sunday yesterday was quite the shock as temperatures held in the 40s under lots of cloud cover. This theme continues on for today unfortunately with no real warmth (at least 70s) in the extended period so far that is visible anyway.

A parade of storm systems will be impacting our area beginning later today as clouds increase and so does the wind becoming gusty by the afternoon hours with high temperatures remaining in the middle 40s. Some light showers will be possible as we head towards the evening with a steadier rain arriving for the overnight hours.

Wednesday is warmer but continued windy with on and off periods of showers and thunderstorms and highs in the 50s. No severe weather expected.

Overnight Wednesday and especially into Thursday is when things could get a little interesting around the area as enough cold air may filter in behind the system to switch our rain over to periods of snow at times. Thankfully ground temperatures are very warm after this past weekends temperature trends so any accumulation would be limited to elevated surfaces with a dusting at best.

Things will quiet down by weeks end with cooler readings before a warm up arrives for the later half of the upcoming weekend.

Have a great Tuesday!
