A complicated forecast for the area today as a complex of thunderstorms in Iowa will continue to race east through the morning hours. There is some expectation for this complex to hold it’s own and reach the Sauk Valley just after the noon hour. Cloud cover will continue to increase from the west ahead of this complex. At this time it appears the strongest storms will remain just south of us.
We’ll see a break by the late afternoon with more continued cloud cover before widespread showers and storms develop after dark tonight. A few of these storms will contain gusty winds, hail, and extremely heavy rainfall. A Flash Flood Watch may be issued later today once the signal as to where these storms will develop becomes more clear. Certainly looks like a noisy night ahead of us!
