Our stretch of dry weather will be coming to an end today (I can hear the lawns rejoicing) as a slow moving frontal system begins to approach the area from the central plains. This front will allow a couple disturbances to track near the area allowing widespread showers and thunderstorms not only later today and tonight, but again on Tuesday as well.
Many areas will see some beneficial rains out of these systems with even some locally heavy rainfall possible as well. Some stronger thunderstorms may accompany the front on Tuesday. Temperatures will continue to be warm and conditions humid as we reach for the middle 80s today.
Storms on Tuesday could be a little on the strong side depending on the timing of the front and whether we can get any daytime heating.
Today’s threat is very isolated as we are only in a marginal risk for severe weather. Nothing widespread expected at this time.
