6:55PM UPDATE: The watch has been cancelled for both Lee and Whiteside counties. Organized severe storm development is no longer anticipated.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm WATCH until 11pm for Lee and Whiteside Counties.
Hazards:
Tornadoes: Low, Isolated
Large Hail: Moderate – Up to 2″ in diameter
Damaging Winds: Moderate: Up to 70 MPH.
Flash Flooding: Low
A few scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop over the next few hours, some of which may become severe with large hail and damaging winds the primary threats. Heavy rainfall and frequent lightning will also accompany these storms.
