The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm WATCH for Lee and Whiteside Counties until 3am Friday.
Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms will continue to develop this evening and overnight. These storms will be capable of producing large hail up to an inch and a half in diameter and wind gusts up to 60 MPH. Torrential rain and frequent lightning will also be likely.
Be prepared to seek shelter should a warning be issued for your area. Flash Flooding is also possible in any areas that receive repeated thunderstorm activity.
