The NWS in Chicago has extended the existing Severe T-Storm Watch that existed to the south of the area, to areas around Dixon and other surrounding communities. This watch does not include the Sterling/Rock Falls area (Whiteside County)
A line of non-severe t-storms is currently near the Clinton area, and this line may continue to strengthen as it progresses eastward. The main threats with storms this afternoon are large hail and damaging winds. Heavy rainfall will also be likely as well. We’ll pass long any warnings as they are issued by the NWS.
