Quiet weekend before heavy rains return

Most of this weekend will be dry, but once we get into early next week additional rounds of heavy rainfall will return to the forecast.

Both Saturday and Sunday will feature mainly dry conditions and warmer temperatures, too! The chance for thunderstorms looks to increase after dark on Sunday evening as a cold front approaches the area. Unfortunately, this is the start of many rain chances that will carry into next week as another active pattern moves in.

A stalled out frontal boundary will be draped close by Monday through Thursday driving these frequent chances for rain. Some of the days will be quite warm, which could also set off a few stronger thunderstorms at times. The timing on this is tricky since it will be driven by the previous days activity, but we’ll be keeping tabs on that potential.

Additional rises are likely to take place on local rivers by the end of next week.
