Plummeting Temperatures Next Week

The next storm system this weekend will likely bring some snowfall, but what about the temperatures that follow?

Temperatures following Friday/Saturdays storm system will plummet shortly after it moves on as early as Saturday night. Temperatures are expected to fall into the lower single digits that night. Sunday won’t be much better with highs just above 10 degrees. Sunday night won’t improve, instead, it could be subzero temperatures. As next week progresses, temperatures will likely remain below 30 degrees through much of the week.

I charted out “average” temperatures depicted between some model runs. These are not our expected highs, but what the average has been across several model runs on the GFS & GFSFV3. Either way, signs are pointing to a cold stretch for a bit. Get those extra winter kits in the car if you haven’t yet!
