Picture Perfect Weekend Ahead

Dry and pleasant conditions continue to be seen across the area with high pressure still remaining in control of our weather pattern.

The reason for the stagnant pattern has been very weak winds aloft as the main jet stream that drives the weather pattern has been located well to the north of the area, driving weather systems to basically sit where they are down near our region and not move very much at all.  An area of low pressure to the west that has brought heavy rainfall to the eastern Nebraska/Western Iowa region the last few days will continue to remain west of the area, just giving us a few clouds from time to time. Otherwise the rest of the area remains very quiet.

For today, expect a mix of sun and clouds with some patchy fog this morning that will lift off quickly with temperatures rebounding to around 82 degrees.

Tonight starts many homecoming activities around the area and the weather will be absolutely perfect beginning with the area football games this evening. Just a few clouds around with temperatures in the middle to upper 70s falling into the upper 60s by later this evening.

The upcoming weekend also looking perfect, with slightly cooler temperatures as we’ll have an east wind bringing slightly cooler conditions with highs in the upper 70s.

No major chances for rain until we get into the middle of next week, but so far nothing significant other than a few showers or sprinkles. Enjoy the beautiful weekend!
