What a spectacular day yesterday with comfortable temperatures and humidity levels! Hopefully you were able to get outside and enjoy some of it. If not, you’ve got another chance today though it will be a touch warmer, sunshine will continue with a light breeze. Highs will reach the middle 80s.
Tonight looks very mild as clouds begin to increase from the west ahead of a cold front set to approach for Saturday. Lows will be in the middle 60s.
Stormy skies look likely for much of our Saturday as a cold front approaches the area from the west. We may have a couple rounds of thunderstorms to content with; one in the morning and then a secondary round in the afternoon. Depending on the timing of the front and if we can see any sunshine some of the storms could be on the strong side by the afternoon with large hail and damaging winds the primary threat. The Storm Prediction Center has put the area in a marginal risk (level 1) for these threats. Highs will be in the lower 80s with the increased cloud cover.
Behind the front the second half of the weekend looks perfect with sunshine returning by Sunday and comfortable temperatures. Highs will be in the upper 70s.
Beyond Sunday we have a slight chance for showers to start the new work-week but temperatures will still remain quite comfortable. Full sunshine returns for Tuesday and Wednesday with dry conditions persisting. Big warmth may arrive a week from now and with that comes another unsettled period with chances for showers and thunderstorms.
We’ll keep tabs on the severe threat over the next 24 hours and post updates periodically.
Have a great weekend!
