Be on the lookout for a few slick spots this morning as temperatures tumble into the 20s allowing some of that standing water on the roads to re-freeze. Winds will be gusty throughout the morning as well so bundle up!
WEEKEND: We will again see a warming trend this weekend and as the warmth moves in we’ll likely see a few snow showers on Saturday. Not looking for much in terms of accumulation, perhaps a dusting and that may mix with rain at times. The best time frame for this looks to be after 2pm until the early evening hours. Sunday sunshine returns and temperatures will rise well into the 40s.
EXTENDED: We’ll be watching the potential for not only VERY mild temperatures (Yes, we could hit 60 next Monday!) but also the threat of heavy rainfall producing thunderstorms on Monday and Monday night. A lot of moisture will be pulled up ahead of this storm system and with the frozen ground we could run into some flooding issues. Area rivers will also need to be monitored for ice jam potential.
We’ll continue to track this system over the weekend when confidence increases regarding where the heaviest rains are likely to fall.
