Temperatures will continue warmer this afternoon with highs reaching around 90. We could see some relief from the heat in the form of a few scattered thunderstorms this afternoon which could come in two waves. One after 3 p.m. and another one later tonight. No widespread severe weather is expected however, a few could contain gusty winds and heavy rainfall.
After a chance of morning storms on Saturday, we’ll crank up the heat even more heading into Memorial Day. A possible tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico will likely keep this hot pattern in place well into next week.
Make sure and apply plenty of sunscreen along with drinking plenty of water if you plan to be outdoors for an extended period of time.
