Welcome to October! Taking a sneak peek at some of the longer range forecasts into this month we stand a 40% probability of seeing above average temperatures overall this month. In terms of precipitation, it appears we could go either way with an equal shot of seeing above or below average precipitation though it does appear the beginning of the month will favor above-average precipitation for a change.
The reason for the more frequent precipitation chances will be a slow-moving frontal boundary moving into the region by late Tuesday into Wednesday. Several disturbances are expected to move along this boundary bringing us chances for showers and thunderstorms during this time-frame.
Before the front arrives much warmer temperatures will be paying us a visit again as early as today. Highs well into the lower to middle 80s are likely and with a strong gusty wind, the fire danger will be high so avoid burning.
Over the next week, the best rain chances are centered on Wednesday into Thursday with much cooler temperatures arriving by the latter half of the week. Next weekend looks initially cool but then warm and active again by Sunday.
