Hot and downright humid conditions on tap for today as our area remains ahead of a cold front that will sweep through overnight tonight. Out ahead of this plenty of heat and humidity will get drawn up into our neck of the woods as high temperatures reach for the 90 degree mark this afternoon. Heat indices will meet or exceed 100 degrees at times so if you have to be outdoors make sure and take frequent breaks and grab that bottle of water. As the cold front approaches the area later this evening a line of thunderstorms will develop to the west of the area. A few of these storms could be strong but at this time no widespread severe weather is expected. Heavy rainfall will also be likely with any storms that move into the area as there is plenty of moisture. Things will cool down Wednesday as we’ll lose the heat and humidity too, with drier conditions filtering in for the next few days. Have a great Tuesday!
