Heat Advisory Continues, Storms Likely Tonight

Today will mark our final day in this stretch of summer-like heat and humidity with a cold front beginning to advance into the area later this afternoon. Highs will reach the low 90s with opressive levels of humidity at times.

This front will fuel several rounds of showers and thunderstorms by later this afternoon and evening. A few of these storms will likely put down heavy amounts of rain with high moisture levels in place. A few isolated stronger storms capable of gusty winds will be possible as well.

Many areas can expect to pick up at leas an inch or more of rain by Tuesday. Our flash flood threat is a little more elevated tonight due to the high moisture levels and the possibility that storms could move over the same areas repeatedly.
