We enjoyed a beautiful spring-like day Tuesday with high temperatures soaring into the lower 60s! It’s been a while since we have seen warmth of that magnitude. You have to go back to early December!
Mother Nature will be quick to remind us though that we are still in the winter season as a strong storm system moves through the region late tonight into Thursday. Plenty of clouds and even drizzle at times is likely by this afternoon before a steadier rain arrives later. That rain will continue Thursday morning before switching over to snow in the afternoon. Rainfall accumulations of a quarter of an inch or so look likely, with snowfall accumulations of less than an inch by early Thursday evening. In terms of impacts, this will have minimal impacts on flooding and most roads will be well above freezing thanks to our recent warm spell, so expect accumulations limited to grassy/elevated surfaces.
Quiet weather is expected Friday, though it will be breezy at times and cooler.
