An Excessive Heat Warning continues through Saturday evening for our area.
Scattered thunderstorms this morning will give way to decreasing clouds this afternoon. Thanks to the rainfall, humidity levels will be much higher today as the dome of heat edges closer. Highs will reach the middle 90s with heat index values approaching 105°.
Storm chances for this afternoon look to remain limited as a layer of warm air aloft moves in. However, later tonight and more towards Friday morning another storm cluster will likely form to our north and graze portions of the area by daybreak. Muggy conditions will be found with lows in the upper 70s tonight.
