Excessive Heat Watch Issued for Lee/Whiteside County for July 21st (Thursday) and July 22nd (Friday) until 7PM.
Summer temperatures will take a large rise by the end of the week mainly Thursday and Friday, but Saturday as well. Along with rising temperatures, humidity is expected to rise and likely bring extreme heat to the area with the heat index. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 90s both Thursday and Friday, and the humidity will make it feel 10 degrees more. While Saturday won’t be as hot in terms of temperatures, the heat index may be in the 100s.

Friday also brings in high heat index values up to 115 possibly in some areas across the state. Highs again in the upper 90s, approaching 100 for some.
Saturday will favor warm temperatures again in the lower 90s, with heat index values as high as 100 for some. Overall, Thursday and Friday be sure to limit your outdoor exposure if possible. Drink plenty of water if you are outside. Remember not to leave any pets or children in your vehicles even if it is only a few minutes.
