The Storm Prediction Center has placed the area under an Enhanced Risk of severe storms for this afternoon and evening.
The combination of a cold front approaching the area from the west and a leftover outflow boundary from this mornings convection up in Wisconsin are expected to be the focal points for thunderstorm development later this afternoon. Lot’s of instability will be present across the area which may lead to severe thunderstorms containing large hail, damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH and isolated tornadoes. Very heavy rainfall will also be likely with these storms causing localized areas of flash flooding.
Make sure you have a way of receiving any watches and warnings that may be issued throughout the day and evening.
