Eclipse Forecast: Plenty of Clouds…Followed by Torrential Downpours

Another splendid start to our weekend weather-wise with a nice comfortable Saturday. Hopefully you were able to get out and enjoy it as our comfort levels will fall drastically by this afternoon. Both heat and humidity will be working back into the area with highs well into the 80s expected. The added humidity will make it feel more like the middle 90s! So far storm chances look like they will hold off to the west for the majority of the day, with these chances increasing late tonight.

The solar eclipse forecast for Monday continues to consistently show cloud cover over the area. Right now the average would be about 60-70% of our skies covered in clouds, with a few breaks here and there. Certainly not good news for viewing the solar eclipse which peaks around 1:16pm in the afternoon.

To add insult to injury we are also watching for the potential of some active and heavy rain producing thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours. Torrential downpours will be likely as increasing moisture levels work their way into the area. So far gusty winds and heavy rainfall appear to be the main threats with storms on Monday.
