Another storm with impressive rainfall amounts has come and gone and now we have a renewed chance at more showers and thunderstorms today with, you guessed it, more locally heavy rainfall possible. This weekend however isn’t looking all that bad! Check it out in your latest forecast and have a great weekend!
We’re off to a wet start for the month already with nearly 70% of the month’s rainfall already in the gauge with the recent storms. By all appearances this month may end up being another one that produces above average rainfall the way things are going presently. Some areas picked up nearly 4 inches during the span of Monday and Tuesday alone!
While we enjoyed a brief break from the rain yesterday we will run the risk of some heavier downpours again today as another cold front approaches the area. Showers and storms are expected to develop by the afternoon and evening hours and some isolated severe storms are possible but the higher threat will be the locally heavy rainfall that they may produce. These storms will be with us for the majority of the evening so make sure and grab the umbrella if you are headed to any area football games.
The front will continue to make steady progress southward overnight meaning much of the shower and storm activity will move out by midnight or so. Saturday will be dry but there will be plenty of clouds that develop during the afternoon which will keep high temperatures only in the lower 70s. Some spots may actually stay in the upper 60s!
Sunday is looking much improved with more in the way of sunshine and mild temperatures in the 70s. Next chance of rain arrives late Monday into Tuesday.
Have a great weekend!
