Cranking Up the Heat & Humidity Again

After a few comfortable days with low humidity and average afternoon highs we’ll be cranking up the heat and humidity again this week as much warmer air to the southwest begins to migrate northward.

You’ll notice the increase in humidity today as highs reach the middle 80s. We’ll remain dry through at least Wednesday with the first chance for showers and thunderstorms entering the picture late Thursday. We could definitely use some rain around the area but as of now dry conditions are expected over the next 24 hours.

Heat really begins to surge by Thursday as highs pass the 90 degree mark and heat indices move into the lower 100s. The only relief from the heat may be an isolated shower or storm but so far coverage on these is expected to remain low until Friday when a cold front approaches the area and erases the heat and humidity for the upcoming weekend. Right now too early to tell if severe storms will accompany the front but as of now the risk appears low.

Next weekend looking quite nice with lower humidity and highs back in the lower 80s.

Have a great Tuesday!
