We hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend. What a weekend it was! Temperatures remained well above average with highs into the lower 80s.
Our stretch of warm weather will continue again today with a mainly sunny start to the day with clouds building into the late morning and afternoon hours. Today’s forecast will be rather tricky as the models are struggling what to do with convection that is ongoing in the central plains this morning. Some models bring a strong line of storms through the area later this afternoon and early this evening, others do not.
The chance of showers and thunderstorms will be with us through the afternoon and evening hours. While everyone won’t see them, you’ll want to keep an eye to the sky. Temperatures again this afternoon will be well into the 80s.
You’ll begin to feel a bit more moisture in the air by this afternoon as dew point values climb into the lower to middle 60s. This moisture will remain with us for the next several days. Here’s a look at the comfort level index over the next three days. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few folks turned on the a/c!
Our warmest day arrives Tuesday when some upper 80s appear likely if not here, somewhere close by. All indications right now show Tuesday being a dry and windy day. Shower and storm chances pick up again for Wednesday with another day featuring highs in the 80s.
We’ll continue to monitor the storm threat for this afternoon and evening and provide further updates if necessary.
