Another very comfortable morning across the Sauk Valley in terms of our temperatures as many locations are in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Expect the comfortable conditions to continue today, though it will be a tad warmer, the humidity levels will still be quite tolerable. Lot’s of sunshine and highs near 83 can be expected.
The area of high pressure that has dominated our weather pattern so far for much of this week will continue sliding off to the east allowing a more southerly flow to develop over the area. This will not only increase our temperatures but it will also increase the level of moisture at the surface making it feel humid beginning Friday. Highs will reach for the middle to upper 80s with a noticeable increase in the humidity levels. Friday will remain dry, just warmer and more humid.
This upcoming weekend gets more complex as the timing of a cold front for Saturday isn’t very specific at this time. Some models rush it in during the morning hours keeping us dry in the afternoon just in time for Music Fest, while others hold it back until the late afternoon and evening hours. Regardless there will be an opportunity for some widely scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day, but nothing too widespread or severe is expected. Highs will continue to climb into the upper 80s.
Sunday the front continues to move southward, however a disturbance will move along the front causing a cluster of thunderstorms somewhere close to the area. Temperatures will continue to be warm and humid conditions will persist right into the beginning of next week.
