A Few Scattered T’Storms Today

It’s been a gorgeous weekend with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the 60s! Hopefully you were able to get out and enjoy it!

An Omega block has been in place for the last several days keeping our weather pattern quiet around the local area. There are signs that this pattern will slowly begin to break down and finally push a warmer air mass back over the region. A warm front will lay out quite a contrast in high temperatures today with 70s and 80s to our southwest by just a few hours drive, and 60s likely here. This front will serve as the focus for a few scattered showers and thunderstorms as we reach the afternoon hours. At this time no severe weather is expected, but some small hail and gusty winds are possible.

Storm chances will remain with us overnight tonight and into the first part of Tuesday before we see a break. Temperatures will continue to moderate reaching close to 70 by Wednesday with a few more scattered showers.

The remainder of the week looks quiet with only a small chance for rain next Saturday. Mother’s Day so far looking mighty fine.
