Heat Advisory For Independence Day

HEAT ADVISORY FROM NOON UNTIL 8 PM

Heat and humidity is back! Highs today in the upper 80s combined with opressive levels of humidity will yield heat index values back into the lower 100s again this afternoon and evening.

All of this heat will build up enough energy during the afternoon to form a few widely scattered thunderstorms. Coverage is expected to be 40% or less. Any of these storms will produce gusty winds and brief, torrential downpours. No widespread severe weather is expected.

The majority of these storms will fall apart as we near sunset, keeping many of our outdoor plans dry for fireworks this evening.

If you plan to be outside for a good chunk of the day, take steps to reduce heat-related illness. HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!
